Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment to Accessibility

At Nephthys Pty Ltd (ACN 628 031 587, ABN 70 628 031 587) trading as AusClear ("AusClear", "we", "us", or "our"), we are committed to providing an inclusive and accessible digital experience for everyone. We recognise the importance of ensuring that our website and services are accessible to individuals with disabilities, and we work toward compliance with Australian laws and international standards, including the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

01 Legal Framework

1.1 Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA)

The Disability Discrimination Act 1992 is Australian federal legislation that makes it unlawful to discriminate against individuals with disabilities. This includes ensuring that online services are accessible to people with disabilities.

AusClear is committed to adhering to this legislation and ensuring that our digital services do not create unnecessary barriers for people with disabilities. We work to identify and remove accessibility barriers from our website and services as they are identified.

1.2 Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1

Compliance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA is considered the benchmark standard for web accessibility in Australia and internationally. The guidelines are organised around four principles:

  • Perceivable: Information and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive.
  • Operable: User interface components and navigation must be operable by all users.
  • Understandable: Information and the operation of the user interface must be understandable.
  • Robust: Content must be robust enough to be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies.

We aim to meet these guidelines and continuously improve our accessibility practices.

02 Our Approach

2.1 Awareness and Standards

AusClear works to ensure accessibility is considered throughout our design and development process. This includes:

  • Staying informed about WCAG 2.1 guidelines and accessibility principles;
  • Awareness of assistive technologies and how users with disabilities interact with digital content;
  • Keeping up to date with the latest accessibility standards and best practices;
  • Understanding legal requirements under the DDA and related legislation;
  • Considering accessibility from the start of design and development work, not as an afterthought.

2.2 Website Development Practices

We aim to follow the following practices to enhance accessibility:

  • WCAG 2.1 Compliance: Our website is developed with WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines in mind.
  • Periodic Review: We review accessibility through manual checks and automated tools.
  • Semantic HTML: We use proper HTML structure and semantic elements so content is correctly understood by assistive technologies.
  • Responsive Design: Our website is accessible across different devices, screen sizes, and orientations.
  • Progressive Enhancement: Core content and functionality are available to all users, regardless of browser or device capabilities.
